Saraki Accuses FG of Mismanaging the Nation's Resources

Date: 2014-12-29

Former Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki, at the weekend blamed the current economic challenges bedevelling the nation on the mismanagement of the nation's resources by the federal government.

He, however, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) would salvage the nation from the present economic doldrums if voted into power come 2015.

Saraki, who is also the senator representing Kwara central district in the National Assembly, made this observation while addressing members of the APC during a town hall meeting in Ilorin South and West Local Government Areas of the state.

The Senator who expressed displeasure over the poor state of the nation's economy, blamed the country's woes on corruption and mismanagement of resources by the PDP-led government.

He promised that if APC is voted into power in 2015, the country would be salvaged from her present predicament.

The former governor, who was received by large crowd of APC supporters, promised that the party would address youth joblessness through job and wealth creations and expressed confidence that the APC would continue to be sensitive to the yearnings and aspirations of the people by providing jobs for the teeming youths.

He called on the people of the state to vote for continuity of good governance in the state and guide their vote jealously.

Saraki explained that he embarked on ward town hall meetings to feel the pulse of the people at the grassroots with a view to enhancing their well-being.

He promised that youth empowerment scheme would be unveiled within the next few weeks.

The former governor announced a donation of N36million as empowerment for women in Ilorin South and West Local Government Areas.

Various speakers at the town hall meeting applauded Saraki for his commitment and passion towards the wellbeing of the down trodden and pledged to vote for the APC in the forthcoming general election.

They equally pleaded for more government patronage in their localities to further make democracy more meaningful to them.

Among the dignitaries that accompanied Senator Saraki was the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Razak Atunwa.
