Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has called for an interface between the state government and the Federal Road Maintenance Agency on road maintenance and allied matters to avoid duplication of efforts and ensure better results.

Governor Ahmed said this while inspecting the Ohan bridge along Alapa in Asa local government area of the state during an unscheduled inspection of the bridge that links Kwara and Oyo States.

He told the Controller of Works, Federal Ministry of Works, Engr Omotayo Awosanya and the Chief Engr, Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA,Tunde Ige that such cooperation was necessary as the state government is closer to the people of the state who are the major beneficiaries of such projects.

The Governor added that such synergy will ensure proper utilisation of resources in the face of compelling public expenditure at all levels of governance.

Governor Ahmed who commended the federal government for its intervention on the Ajasse-Ipo - Offa-Erin-Ile road, implored the FG resume rehabilitation on the stalled intervention, adding that such will not only boost economic activities in the areas but reduce accident along the road.

Inspecting the recently completed Oke Andi road in Sango area of Ilorin, Governor Ahmed promised that infrastructural development ?of the state will be evenly spread as communities yet to benefit will not be left out in government's programme of shared prosperity.
