Governor Ahmed, others bag JCI awards

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed at the weekend bagged the outstanding person award of 'Most Youth Development Ambassador' conferred on him by Junior Chamber International (JCI).

The award presentation which also featured the installation of Comrade Kazeem Adekanye as 2014 President of JCI in Kwara State was held at the Kwara Hotel, Ilorin,  weekend.
Other individuals and corporate organizations also conferred with various awards by JCI included the Kwara State First Lady's pet project, 'LEAH Charity Foundation' as the Most Impactfull Organization; MD/CEO GANZY Global Nig Ltd, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Zubair as Ambassador of Positive Change; the General Manager Kwara United, Alhaji Mohammed Haruna Maigidasanma as Grass Root Sports Development Ambassador; Mr Femi Adetola (also known as Dr FA) as Pillar of the Youth: Harmony Holding Ltd as Most Innovative Corporate Organization and MD/CEO of FEMTECH, Mr Emmanuel Olufemi Abidoye as IT Person of the year.

Speaking during the award ceremony, the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed said the award would spur him to do more and consolidate on various youth oriented programmes of his administration.
Governor Ahmed who was represented at the occasion by his Special Adviser on Communication Strategy, Alhaji AbdulRaheem Adedoyin commended the JCI for its various community-based projects and programmes that have been really assisting government in no small measure.

Ahmed who expressed satisfaction over the recognition of his administration's performance  by the JCI, pledged his government's continuous support and assistance to the JCI so as to enable it achieve its sole aim of impacting meaningfully to the community within which it operates.

The Governor promised that his administration would do everything possible to evolve policies and programmes that would turn around the lives of the youths in the state.

In his lecture at the occasion, the guest speaker, Mr Oyetunji Obafemi who spoke on "Entrepreneurship Development Key To Economic Prosperity" advised Nigerian youth to develop interest in entrepreneurial skill describing it as best alternative to white cola job.

Obafemi who affirmed that white cola job is not easy to come by in the present situation, said the earlier we embrace the entrepreneurial  and vocational skills in Nigeria the better for the economic prosperity of this nation.

In his address, the newly installed President of JCI-Kwara, Comrade Kazeem Adekanye said the choice of Governor Ahmed as recipient of the JCI award was not unconnected with the governor's frantic efforts in empowering teeming kwaran youths using KWABES and Quick Win strategies as platforms.

Adekanye said the award of all recipients was on the basis of their selfless services to humanity in all their various fields.

He called on members of JCI-kwara to join hands with him and speak with one voice in order to accomplish all their desired aims and objectives lined up for the good people of Kwara, especially youth.
