Kwara gets c'ttee on job creation

Date: 2014-01-10

Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed yesterday said all necessary machineries have been put in place jobs creation.

Inaugurating a committee to work out modalities for a job intervention initiative tagged QuickWin, Ahmed stressed that as a  youth-focused administration, government was determined to get more young people into employment while also offering training and credit facilities to those seeking to start or grow their own businesses.

He assured that various opportunities would be created for direct bridge employment and entrepreneurship and urged youths in the state to key into the QuickWin programme.

Ahmed charged the committee to rapidly work out modalities for the creation of the first set of jobs within the first quarter of year while prioritizing equity and merit in the distribution.

According to him, the QuickWin Initiative builds up on the 5000 youth jobs so far created under KWABES.

The committee, which has seven days to submit its report, is headed by the Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Isiaka Gold.
