WAUG: University of Port-Harcourt leads

The ongoing 13th West Africa University Games holding at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State resumed yesterday afternoon after about 12 hours break with University of Port Harcourt leading the medals table with 33 gold, 16 silver and 9 bronze medals.

University of Benin is second with 6 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze while Benson Idausa University with 4 gold and 4 silver medals is in the third position, while University of Ghana is in the fourth place with 3 gold, 2 silver, 9 bronzes.

The medal table as at the time of this report shows that Federal University Technology Akure placed fifth with 3 Gold, 2 Silver, 4 bronze; Ahmadu University 3 gold, 1 silver, 5 bronze; Michael Okpara University of Agriculture 3 gold, 1 bronze; University of Lagos 2 Gold, 7 Silver, 5 bronze, Universite Shirk Anta Duo Daka (UGAD) 2 Gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze; University of Education Winneba two gold medals.

University of Calabar 1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze; Lagos State University 1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze; Bayero University 1 gold; Obafemi Awolowo 1 gold, University of Nigeria Nsuka, 4 silver, 3 bronze while host University of Ilorin is number 17 on the table with 3 Silver, 5 bronze.
