Alangua Commends Mallam AbdulRazaq Over Reconstruction, Dualization of Oloje-Yebumot Road
Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq has been commended for the planned re-construction and dualisation of Oloje to Yebumot road in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Speaking with journalists in his palace, the Alangua of Adewole, Alhaji Hanafi Hussan, described the reconstruction of Oloje/Yebumot roads as a welcome development that will be a benefit to all when completed.
He praised the state government under the leadership of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq for deeming it fit to dualize the road that has been overdue for many years, pointing out that the road will boost the socio-economic of the areas.
The traditional ruler appealed to the governor to complete the few metres of the road directly in front of Alangua Adewole palace to Adeta junction, urging the Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency to erect speed breakers at front of Alangua palace to reduce accidents.
“Many accidents usually happen while over speeding hit and run vehicles, tricycles and commercial motorcycles injured pedestrians while crossing over the road”, he lamented.
Also speaking, one of the shop owners along the road, Mallam Salaudeen Aromaradu urged the government to compensate the affected shop owners to help them get back to their business within the time frame.
Earlier, the Kwara State Physical Planning Authority Ilorin has issued quit notices to all those affected, instructing them to remove their structures before Monday 10th of January, 2022.
