Kwara Utd apologise for NPFL loss

Date: 2015-04-21

The management of Glo Premier League side, Kwara United, has tendered an unreserved apology to the supporters and fans for the 1-3 loss to Heartland on Sunday in llorin.

The management in a statement in llorin on Monday jointly signed by its secretary, Dele Oguntokun and general manager, Haruna Maigidansanma said the result was an unfortunate one and unacceptable to the club.

"It was a shocking result that we were not expecting at all but you know in football you win some you lose some.

"All I can say for now is that we will take it on from there and make necessary amendments ahead of Wednesday's clash with 3SC in Ibadan and in our subsequent games too.

"We will not blame anyone for the loss but we will take full responsibility for the poor outing," said the statement made available to supersport.com.

The statement commended the matured way the fans conducted themselves on Sunday and promised that the management we do all it can to put things right.

It appealed to the fans and supporters alike not to lose confidence in the team but continue to rally round the side to finally make the team formidable one.

The management said they will summon a meeting with the technical crew to find out what the problem was that led to the heavy defeat and possibly guide against future occurrence.

The heavy defeat against Heartland left the Afonja Warriors on five points from possible 12 in the four-week old Nigerian top flight.
