OPINION: The Emerging Minister and The Rise of an Imperial Majesty. By Comrade Bolakale
Many names have been linked to the position among which are, Gbemisola Saraki, Oloriegbe, Yinka Aluko, Dele Belgore and host of others. The tune of the drama changed just two weeks ago when one Dr. Suleiman was said to have been chosen and this was confirmed in a publication on E-Kwara "Abubakar Suleiman scales SSS.....". Reading the publication, I found it necessary to write this piece.
It was established in the publication that wrangling has been the reason why President has not chosen a minister.
The publication also confirmed that suspicion was the reason behind rejection of Yinka Aluko. For those that know Aluko very well and Shagaya, one would find the allegation as a cooked one. The reason why Yinka Aluko may not be supported by Shagaya is definitely not because of suspicion but for the man's integrity and principle.
Aluko is known to be loyal to any cause he believes in but will not be anybody's stooge. His records while in government can attest to this. We know all the efforts being made by APC to woo him to no avail. But Shagaya is an influential woman with an ego for power.
Similarly, Shagaya was confirmed to have blocked the chance of many other people for Dr. Abubakar who was political adviser to Bamaga Tukur an in-law to Shagaya.
The publication also confirmed how Gbemisola, Oloriegbe and Dele Belgore were blocked by the Shagaya. Shagaya should allow the party to chose who ever is popular so as to improve the fortune of the party and not discourage party men.
Meanwhile, it appears that in the course of fighting autocratic leadership of Bukola Saraki, we are building a Tyranny Empire of Her Imperial Majesty. If the party would not be empowered at state level, I'm scare of sustainability of the party and her victory in 2015. External force and influence must be controlled with sincerity and patriotism.
In Conclusion, I will urge the party stakeholders to note that in the quest for freedom, there's no superiority. The party should be allowed to champion the course of what was redefined for; liberation of political and economic decision of the state.
