Heartland suspend team coaches after home loss to Kwara United
The Owerri based club home loss has brought about change in the technical crew
Heartland has suspended the team's entire coaches over poor results in the wake of the club's home loss to Kwara United on Sunday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
Ndubuisi Nduka,Christian Obi, Mbwas Mangut and Bob Acholonu have been asked to step aside from the club.
The indefinite suspension was not only placed on the technical crew alone as players of the Naze Millionaires were also placed on half salaries from the month of August after the club's 0-1 home loss to Kwara United in a match day 24 of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Making this known to Goal the media officer of the Naze Millionaires, Cajetan Nkwopara stated that the inability of the coach Ndubuisi Nduka led technical crew to meet up with the target given to them after their match day 20 home loss to Enyimba necessitated the action.
He said that the players' lack of impressive results within the stipulated ultimatum given to them also meant that they shall receive half of what they ought to get as salaries until their performance improve for the club.
According to Nkwopara:"I want to tell you that we have placed all the members of the technical crew on indefinite suspension or compulsory leave as a result of their inability to meet up with the target given to them.
"The management met immediately after the defeat to Kwara United and review the ultimatum given to the coaches to garner 12 points from possible 15 after their loss to Enyimba in Owerri.
"But after that loss they have lost three more which meant that they won't be able to attain the target set by the management. They are placed on indefinite suspension while the club searches for coaches to take their places in the interim.
"We may recall part of them for our away game in Gombe but we shall ensure we do what is best for the club," Nkwopara informed Goal.
Sources however alerted Goal that the Owerri based side have exempted recently appointed Assistant Coach, Mangut Mbwas and Bob Acholonu from the technical officials' purge and both are to take charge of the club's away game against Gombe United and subsequently until the management takes a decision on others that were suspended.
The loss means that Heartland is now in relegation battle as they have 31 points from 24 game.
