The victim, Barrister Gafaru Musa of No. 3, Tunde Oriokoh Street, Odota Area, Ilorin, had on April 19, 2013 reported the matter at ‘D' Division Police Station, Adewole, Ilorin.
The complainant said that, when he and his family members returned home, he discovered that unknown thieves had broken into his residence through the back fence.
The long arm of the law however caught up with the accused when on June 21, 2013, when one of the stolen wristwatches was allegedly recovered from Kanike (first accused).
Police First Information Report (FIR) on the matter stated that the apprehension of the first accused led to the arrest of Raheem (second accused) who, he (first accused) claimed to have given him the watch.
The FIR added that investigation conducted at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) office, Ilorin, led to the recovery of one of the stolen Dell laptops from the second accused.
The prosecutor, Inspector Kareem Jimoh informed the court that investigation into the matter was still in progress. He urged the court to remand them in prison pending the outcome of the investigation.
The defense counsel, Barrister N.A Suleiman prayed the court to admit the accused to bail since the law still presumed them innocent until the contrary is proved.
