The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, yesterday declared that he has no anointed candidates for the forthcoming local government election in the state.
Saraki who made this known in his address at the Charity Home, Ilofa Road, GRA Ilorin, maintained that the door was open for all interested candidates who have the leadership quality to lead his people.
Saraki warned that no party leader or party stakeholder in the state should have candidates, saying that any candidate presented by any party leader or stalwart will be automatically disqualified.
He stated that those who are serving and still eyeing local government chairmanship post should resign first, otherwise such candidates would also be disqualified.
The state PDP leader appealed to the members of the party in the state to look inward to select candidates who will keep the flag of the party flying, rather than inexperienced candidates.
Saraki therefore called on party members to strive to uphold their wards and council areas so as to make a clean sweep of the forthcoming local government election in the state.
He appealed to members of the party to remain loyal and committed.
He commended the state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, for maintaining peace in the state, and urged him to continue in the same spirit so as to collectively move the state forward.
Earlier in his address, the state PDP chairman, Hon. Ishola Balogun Fulani urged all aspirants not to see post as do or die affair but service to mankind adding that no further guideline would be issued other than what the leader had earlier listed.
Present on the occasion was the state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed.
