Kwara State Government in conjunction with the Nigeria (Pro) Wrestling Federation has concluded arrangements to host the maiden international ultimate wrestling super slam championship tagged  Kwara 2013  slated to take place in the state from June 16-22, 2013.

Disclosing this to our correspondent, the state's Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Hajia Ramat Adeshina stated that all arrangements to host the tourney which is being organised in honor of Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed is at an advanced stage, even as she announced that a Local Organising Committee for the championship has been set up with the mandate to organise a befitting tournament.

According to her, the LOC will be headed by the Permanent Secretary of her Ministry, Mrs. Rhoda Fumilayo Ajiboye. Other members include the initiator of the championship and President of NWF, Prince Hammed Olarenwaju Mohammed, the Director of Sports in the Ministry of Sports, Alhaji Sanni Lukpan, Director of Sports in the Sports Council, Tunde Yinusa Kazeem and the state's Chief Sports Officer, Mr. Bako. Others are Bosun Awaye and Tunde Ogunbiyi.

Meanwhile, President of NWF, Prince Olarenwaju Mohammed has announced that the championship will be held in six centres across the three senatorial zones of the state adding that both home and foreignbased wrestlers from at least 20 countries of the world will be contesting for the five golden belts that has since arrived Ilorin in the Super heavyweight, Heavyweight, Cruiserweight, Royal Rumble and Ladies bout.
