Kwara Students Laud Ahmed over N298m Bursary
The National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) has commended Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed over the payment of N50million bursary to students in the state out of N298 million expected to be paid.
Senate President and Chief Clark of the Association, Muhammed Saliu and Adewale Adedeji in a statement Jointly issued and copied our Correspondent described the payment as encouraging.
According to them “the sum of N50 million was released for the first phase paymentand N298 million will be needed to pay all students both within the state and outside the state.
The governor released the first phase and it has been paid to some schools with least population”.
The Association leaders disclosed that College of Education Ilorin, Oro, Lafiagi, Kwara State University (KWASU),and School of Nursing Ilorin have benefited from the first phase.
While commending Governor Ahmed on the payment, the Association leaders urged him to expedite action on how to release more fund to capture Students of Kwara polytechnic, Unilorin, Federal Polytechnic Offa, School of Nursing Offa and students outside the state in Nigeria.
They also commended the effort of the Chairman of Kwara State Scholarship Board Hon. Isiaka Mogaji on his role in making sure the fund was disbursed prudently to all beneficiary institutions, and the Executive Secretary Alh zakari with his staffs for working round the clock in ensuring the fund was disbursed judiciously.”
