Barau FC and Kwara United played out a 1-1 draw in their Nigeria Premier Football League encounter at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Sunday.

Anthony Sunday put the home side ahead in the 41st minute, giving Barau FC a half-time lead after sustained attacking pressure. Kwara United responded in the second half when debutant Goodluck Ogbolu equalised in the 61st minute to secure a valuable point for the visitors.

Despite late pressure from Kwara United, Barau FC's defence remained solid and prevented a late winner. Both teams left the field with a share of the spoils after an evenly contested match.

Barau FC head coach Eugene Agbabe blamed poor finishing for his side's inability to convert several first-half chances into goals. He noted that the team had gone three matches without a win and called for improved performance and a restored winning mentality.

Kwara United coach Ashifat Sulyman expressed satisfaction with the result, describing it as a foundation on which the team would continue to build for better outcomes in subsequent matches.
