Ilorin East/South Stakeholders Endorse Yinka Aluko for Second Term, Cite Legislative Milestones

Stakeholders, party leaders, youth groups, and community representatives from Ilorin East and Ilorin South Federal Constituency have declared their support for the re-election of Hon. Dr. Yinka Ahmed Aluko, citing his legislative performance, constituency projects, and grassroots-driven representation.

The endorsement was made during an institutional presentation delivered by Comrade Adebayo Mudashir Jabata, who highlighted the achievements and interventions of the lawmaker since his emergence in the House of Representatives.

According to the stakeholders, Hon. Aluko has distinguished himself through strategic legislative engagements and developmental initiatives spanning education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, youth empowerment, and public welfare.

Among the bills sponsored by the federal lawmaker are the proposed establishment of the Federal College of Education, Oke-Oyi; the Federal Medical Centre, Fufu Bill, which has passed third reading; the Nigerian Army College Bill; the Federal University of Agriculture, Agbeyangi Bill; and the Chartered Institute of Crisis Management and Peace-Building of Nigeria Bill.

The presentation also noted that Hon. Aluko sponsored motions calling for the rehabilitation of the Idofian-Fufu-Lajiki-Oke-Oyi Road, as well as the construction of flyover bridges at Oko-Olowo and Malete-Shao Junctions to improve traffic flow and public safety.

On constituency projects, the stakeholders disclosed that more than 300 solar-powered streetlights have been installed across several communities, while transformers were distributed to improve electricity supply within the constituency.

In the education sector, the lawmaker was credited with constructing a six-classroom block at Ago Aiyekale, Tanke, renovating classrooms at Dada LGEA School in Ibagun, supporting students with tuition assistance, organizing summer educational programmes, and distributing free JAMB forms to students.

The stakeholders further revealed that motorized boreholes were facilitated in communities including Sakama, Sango, Idi-Ape, Oke-Oyi, and Ibagun to improve access to potable water.

Hon. Aluko was also commended for various empowerment initiatives targeted at women, youths, artisans, and small-scale business owners through skills acquisition programmes and the distribution of vocational tools such as sewing machines, grinding machines, generators, barbing kits, and hair dryers.

In support of agriculture and food security, over one thousand bags of fertilizer were reportedly distributed to farmers across the constituency.

The presentation further highlighted employment opportunities facilitated by the lawmaker into agencies including the Nigeria Police Force, EFCC, Federal Fire Service, and federal tertiary institutions.

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, Comrade Jabata said the endorsement followed extensive consultations and an assessment of the lawmaker's performance, adding that the people of Ilorin East and South had resolved to support his return to the National Assembly for a second term.

The stakeholders described Hon. Aluko as a representative committed to sustainable development, institutional growth, and people-oriented leadership.
