Kwara South People's Network Endorses Senator Ashiru for 2027 Governorship

Date: 2026-04-15

The Kwara South People's Network, a political support group spanning the seven local government areas of the district, has endorsed Senate Deputy Leader, Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, for the 2027 governorship election.

The group's National Chairman, Chief Hakeem Alani, said the endorsement followed wide consultations with political leaders, professionals, community groups, women, and youths across the senatorial district.

He stressed the group's commitment to unity, noting that collective action remains essential for sustainable development and fair representation.

In a statement, Alani described Ashiru as the most acceptable and credible aspirant, capable of consolidating the achievements of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

While acknowledging that other contenders are qualified, he maintained that Ashiru stands out as the strongest candidate.

The network urged party members in Kwara South to unite behind a widely acceptable and electable candidate, stressing that the APC must prioritise competence, stability, and vision in choosing its flagbearer.
