Government has been advised to beef up security at the Federal Polytechnics, Offa(FEDPO) to avoid break down of law and order on the campus.

The Elerin of Erin-Ile, Oba AbdulGaniyu Ibraheem Olusokun, gave the advice during the visit to his office by the Senior Special Assistant on Students and Youths Affairs, to President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr Jude Imague, on Tuesday.

The royal father disclosed that indigenes of Erin-Ile who are students of the schoolhave stopped attending school because of the fear of been attacked.

He added that the staff of the college who are indigenes of the town  and other people residing in Erin-Ile have ceased attending work for the same reason.

He called for government quick intervention so that the people would not be denied their constitutional right.

Responding, Mr. Imagwe said democracy can only take roots in an environment where peace and unity reign among the people.

He appealed to the people of the institution and the entire community to always emulate the quality leadership of their traditional rulers.

Imague said: "I promise to discuss the issue with the state governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed, because he is the chief security officer of the state and also to include it in my report to the president"
