We Shall Not Bow to Fear - AbdulRazaq Vows Justice for Victims of Woro Terror Attack
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has assured residents that the state will not give in to fear or intimidation from any deranged ideology, pledging to seek justice for victims of the terrorist attack in Woro.
Speaking during the inauguration of a seven-member committee established to assist survivors of the February 3 attack, the governor expressed deep sorrow over the incident.
"Today, my heart remains heavy as we gather in the shadow of the horrible terrorist attack that struck Woro on February 3, where at least 75 precious lives-or more-were cruelly taken. While homes and families were shattered by the mindless terrorists who sought to impose their warped ideology on the rest of us.
"We will leave no stone unturned in pursuing justice for our people and strengthening security across our state. We are already coordinating with federal authorities and security agencies to ensure this evil never happens again.
"Kwara stands with you. Together, we will heal, rebuild, and emerge stronger. We shall not bow to fear or intimidation of any deranged ideology," he added.
Abdulrazaq stated that the committee's responsibility is to engage directly with affected families, community leaders, and residents to determine their most urgent needs, including rehabilitation, medical assistance, restoration of livelihoods, rebuilding of infrastructure, and psychosocial support.
"The committee," he said, "is expected to serve as the bridge between the people and government, ensuring that the interventions are community-driven, transparent, and effective."
In his remarks, the Chairman of the committee and Kiwozi of Kugiji, Mr Ahmed Ibn-Muhammad, assured the governor that members would make every possible effort to reach those affected and respond to their needs.
