Date: 2025-11-25

The Management of the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, has become aware of a malicious and entirely false rumor circulating on social media platforms alleging a security breach by bandits on the college campus.

The Management wishes to state in the strongest terms that this information is completely untrue, unfounded, and fabricated. There has been no such security incident at the College, the campus is currently secure, calm, and academic activities are proceeding without any disruption.

Preliminary investigations suggest that this false alarm was started and spread recklessly by a few individuals whose motives are being investigated. The College Management views this act with utmost seriousness, as it has caused unnecessary panic, anxiety, and fear among students, parents, staff, and the general public.

The College Security Department, in collaboration with other security agencies, has confirmed that the campus and its environs are safe and that there is no cause for alarm.

The Provost of the College, Elder Ayanshola Benjamin, stated: "We are deeply concerned by the irresponsible spread of this fake news. Our primary responsibility is the safety and well-being of our students and staff, and we want to assure everyone that the campus is safe. We have a robust security apparatus in place, and we are working to identify the originators of this dangerous rumor. Appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken against anyone found culpable in line with the College's regulations and the laws of the land."

The Management urges all students, parents, and the public to:

1. Disregard the false information entirely.
2. Cease sharing or forwarding the unverified message.
3. Rely only on official communication channels of the College for authentic information. These include the College's official website, verified social media handles, and notices from the Office of the Registrar.

The College remains committed to maintaining a secure and conducive environment for teaching, learning, and research. We appeal for calm and responsible use of social media.
