The workshop, themed "Effective Governance and Leadership Skills," was organized by the Office of the Head of Service in collaboration with a private training and consulting company.
Declaring the event open, the Acting Head of Service, Dr. Mercy Olufunke Shittu, said the training reflects the administration's commitment to effective leadership and quality service delivery.
She explained that Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries, who play vital roles in policy formulation and implementation, were the main participants. Dr. Shittu added that the programme was specifically designed to enhance collaboration between political and administrative heads.
Dr Shittu disclosed that a recent assessment revealed a gap in ICT knowledge among some civil servants, which the workshop also seeks to address.
Representative of the company, Raheem Adedoyin, said the training was meant to build capacity and strengthen synergy among government officials for improved performance.
One of the resource persons, Professor Emmanuel Ojo of the University of Ilorin, emphasized the need for good governance and continuous engagement with citizens for sustainable development.
