Kwara United Finalise Toheeb Gidado Signing to Power Historic CAF Confederation Cup Push
Kwara United are on the verge of finalising the signing of midfielder Toyeeb Gidado from Ikorodu City, bolstering their squad for a historic triple campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League, President's Federation Cup, and CAF Confederation Cup.
The 24-year-old playmaker, who made just five NPFL appearances during Ikorodu City's 2024/25 campaign, is set to join the Harmony Boys as they prepare to represent Nigeria in continental football for the first time since their President's Federation Cup triumph in June 2025.
Technical Director Tunde Sanni confirmed negotiations are in advanced stages: "Gidado brings technical quality and versatility we need for our continental journey. His hunger to reignite his career aligns with our ambition."
The move underscores Kwara United's aggressive squad rebuilding ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup debut a milestone for Kwara State football after 50 years without major silverware.
