Kwara United Face Abakaliki FC in Landmark President's Cup Final
Kwara United and Abakaliki FC will compete for glory in the final of the 2025 President's Federation Cup, both teams seeking their first-ever triumph in Nigeria's oldest football tournament.
Abakaliki FC, the underdog from the Nigeria National League (NNL), secured their place in the final after a dramatic 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Ikorodu City FC in Abuja's Bwari Stadium. The semi-final ended 0-0 after extra time.

They began their campaign with a Round of 64 win over Yobe Desert Stars, before defeating Katsina United, Enyimba FC, and Nasarawa United in successive rounds. Their run marks the first time a team from Ebonyi State has reached the President's Cup final.
In the other semi-final, Kwara United defeated five-time champions Rangers International 1-0 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
