Kwara Assembly Approves FOI and Water Bills to Boost Transparency and Resource Management
The Kwara State House of Assembly has passed the Kwara State Freedom of Information Bill 2025 and the Kwara State Water User Association Bill 2025 during yesterday's plenary session.
The bills were approved following committee reports from the House. Hon. Rukayatu Shitu, Chairperson of the House Committee on Youth, Sports and Information, and Hon. Yinusa Oniboki, Chairman of the House Committee on Water Resources, noted that most stakeholders at public hearings endorsed the legislation's provisions.
Both bills were read for the third time by the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Ahmed Olayiwola, before their final passage.
Speaker Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu directed the Clerk to prepare clean copies for onward transmission to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for assent.
