Empowering Youth: Kwara Govt Collaborates with CAC on Business Support

In a bid to foster collaboration and bolster youth-led enterprises, the Kwara State Ministry of Youths Development, led by Commissioner Amb. Ndanusa Usman Shehu, has partnered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Ilorin.

During a courtesy visit to the CAC office, the Commissioner emphasised the initiative's focus on empowering young entrepreneurs by simplifying business registration, offering mentorship, and ensuring compliance with regulatory policies.

Amb. Ndanusa highlighted plans to collaborate with the CAC to create tailored opportunities for Kwara's youth, including streamlined business registration processes, access to regulatory guidance, and capacity-building programmes aimed at fostering sustainable economic growth.

"We seek to partner with you to simplify the process of formalizing youths-led businesses, providing mentorship, and encouraging compliance with business regulations to promote sustainable entrepreneurship.This engagement will reflect the government's commitment to youths empowerment, job creation, and economic development", the Commissioner submitted.

According to the Director of CAC, Mr Tunde Adeoti, the Commission had been moving round the State ministries, parastatals and agencies to connect with them on how to collaborate and educate the youths on business registrations.

He highlighted the importance of youths participation in the formal economy and assured that the Commission would explore ways to provide technical support, awareness campaigns, and capacity-building programmes tailored towards young entrepreneurs.

Mr. Adeoti emphasized that there were lots of benefits the people could get from the government when they register their businesses with the Commission to become an entity.

He stressed that the Federal government was interested in making informal businesses formal by helping them to grow and stabilize, which could attract foreign investors for partnerships.

Also present at the meeting were the Director of Personnel Finance and Supply of the Ministry, Dr. Mrs Funmilola Adenike Ajide, Director of Youths, Alh. Abdulsalam Akeem, Assistant Director Administration, Mr. Sikiru Aminu, Assistant Director of CAC, Mrs Mujidat Bashar and Principal Youths Development Officer, Mr. Taofik Zubair.
