Ogunbote Vows Shooting Stars Will Rebound After First Loss in Nine Matches
Shooting Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, remains optimistic that his team will recover from their 2-0 defeat to Kwara United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
This loss marked Shooting Stars' first setback in nine league matches, ending an impressive unbeaten run. The result also meant they missed an opportunity to narrow the gap on league leaders Remo Stars, who maintain a comfortable lead at the top of the table.
Despite the disappointment, Coach Ogunbote expressed confidence in his players' ability to regroup and regain their form in upcoming fixtures.
Ogunbote admitted that the defeat was just a temporary setback.
“This is just a temporary setback. We need to pick up the pieces and take the positives from it,” he told the club's media.
“You see, sometimes, when you do not manage success, you pay a price, and sometimes, when you taste defeat and are able to realize why you were defeated, you can bounce back.
“All we need to do is bounce back by picking up our pieces, making the necessary corrections, and moving on.”
Shooting Stars will be away to Heartland in their next league game on Sunday.
