Kwara Health Insurance Agency Opens 3 Regional Offices, Targets 250,000 Beneficiaries
The Kwara State Health Insurance Agency has opened three regional offices across the state's geopolitical zones, with a target of providing affordable and quality healthcare services to 250,000 beneficiaries.
The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Olubunmi Jetawo-Winter, reiterated the state government's commitment to enhancing the healthy living of Kwara residents by providing quality and affordable healthcare services. She made this statement today at the inter-ministerial press briefing organized by the Kwara State Ministry of Communications.
Dr. Jetawo-Winter disclosed that the mandate of the Agency is to provide affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare services to all residents of Kwara State, irrespective of tribe or religious beliefs.
The Executive Secretary, who was represented by the Controller of Finance and Account of the agency, Mr.Atobiloye Mufliu, disclosed that no fewer than 250,000 lives will be onboarded into the scheme in all formal, informal, and indigent sectors as a target for the agency.
According to Dr Jetawo-Winter, the agency would not relent in its efforts at ensuring that the benefits of this scheme gets to the entire residents of Kwara State, hence the reason for the commissioning of regional offices across the 3 geopolitical zones in the state for accessibility.
She also disclosed that, during the period under review, this government has committed a lot of resources to the scheme for indigents, as the present administration takes the health of residents at a high premium.
The ES further mentioned the significance of capacity building for staff, which she said will improve performance in health care services delivery, given which the agency organized capacity building for staff, on health insurance administration, digital literacy and marketing, for effective service delivery.
"Kwara Care remains committed to improving health outcomes for all residents of Kwara State, through effective service delivery". She concluded.
Earlier, in her opening remarks, the commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bola Olukoju commended the giant strides of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's led administration in all facets of the state developments that are geared toward better Kwara.
She described the media briefing as a platform for Chief Executives in all MDAs, to reel out their activities to the public.
