Kwara State Government Announces Partial Closure of Ile Apa Road with Planned Traffic Diversion

Date: 2024-11-23

The Kwara State Government has announced the partial closure of Ile Apa Road, spanning Tanke Junction to the General Tunde Idiagbon Bridge, starting Friday, November 22, 2024. This temporary measure is necessary to facilitate asphalt works aimed at expediting the rehabilitation that is ongoing on the road.

According to the Honourable Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engineer Abdulquawiy Olododo, the road will remain accessible to traffic, but diversions will be introduced as the project progresses. Motorists and commuters should expect some congestion and are encouraged to drive with caution, exercise patience, and cooperate with traffic management personnel deployed to maintain order and ensure smooth vehicular flow.

“We understand the inconvenience this may cause and deeply appreciate the public’s cooperation,” said Engineer Olododo. “This project is pivotal for enhancing the road’s economic value and improving overall connectivity which is integral to the urban renewal agenda of his Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. We are committed to completing the work swiftly and effectively.”

The government assures residents and road users of its commitment to minimizing disruptions while prioritizing safety and efficiency. All motorists are urged to adhere to traffic guidelines and plan their journeys accordingly during the rehabilitation period.
