Governor AbdulRazaq Presents Staff of Office to New Monarchs of Oro and Jimba-Oja
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by Deputy Governor Mr. Kayode Alabi, presented the Staff of Office to the new Oloro of Oro, Oba Joel Oyatoye Titiloye, and the Gbamoyin of Jimba-Oja, Oba Adebayo Olanrewaju Ismail. Governor AbdulRazaq called upon the newly installed monarchs to use their roles to foster peace, unity, and active community participation in governmental programmes and policies.
Addressing the people of Oro and Jimba-Oja, the governor underscored the importance of collective support for their new leaders, stressing that unity is key to peace, development, and progress in Kwara State. The governor also encouraged the monarchs to build bridges of understanding among their communities’ diverse groups, praying for sustained peace, prosperity, and socioeconomic advancement in their domains.
In his remarks, Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development, Abdullahi Abubakar Bata, lauded the kingmakers and residents of both communities for their maturity and peaceful approach to the succession process.
He added that the occasion further demonstrates the respect and regard the present administration has for traditional Institution by providing an enabling environment for the Citizens to select their Monarch without any interference from the State Government and any external influence.
In his acceptance speech, the new Oloro of Oro, Oba Joel Oyatoye Titiloye, expressed appreciation to the Kingmakers, people of Oro community and the state government for the confidence reposed in him.
He stated that his reign will not be built on divisions but on forgiveness, unity, and progress adding that he is committed to settling any misunderstandings and ensuring that all voices are heard.
Also in his acceptance speech, the Gbamoyin of Jimba-Oja, Oba Adebayo Olanrewaju Ismail stated that his reign will be anchored on service to the people, progress and over all development of Jimba-Oja.
