Date: 2024-07-31

According to a news report from News Central, Olayinka Fafoluyi, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, has earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ). An alumnus of the University of Ilorin, Fafoluyi graduated with an Upper Credit in the NIJ programme.

In addition to his postgraduate diploma, Fafoluyi has obtained a certificate in Fundamental Skills in Digital Marketing from Google, demonstrating his dedication to staying current with the latest media trends and technologies.

Speaking about his achievement in Ilorin on Tuesday, Fafoluyi stated that his academic advancement aims to deepen his knowledge and expertise in journalism and communication. He noted that the Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from NIJ has equipped him with advanced skills in news reporting, media ethics, and communication strategies, solidifying his role as a significant figure in the media industry.

He added: “My modest academic success is a reflection of my relentless pursuit of knowledge and commitment to upholding the highest standards of journalistic integrity, and I thank God that my educational achievements are complemented by my extensive professional experience.”

It would be recalled that prior to his current role, the governor's media aide had established a reputable career in digital marketing and public relations, working with media and agricultural companies.

He said: “This combination of academic prowess and practical experience has enabled me to effectively bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.

“So, my ongoing pursuit of professional development highlights my dedication and commitment to continuous learning and career growth, towards ensuring that I remain at the forefront of industry advancements.”

Aside from his academic accolades, Fafoluyi is also an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), further validating his expertise and commitment to professional ethics.

This dual recognition from both the NIJ and NIPR illustrates Fafoluyi's comprehensive understanding of both journalism and public relations, positioning him as a versatile and influential figure in the communication sector.
