EFCC Restructures: Michael Nzekwe Assumes Role as Chief of Staff

Date: 2024-04-28

According to a news report from Royal News, the immediate past Ilorin Zonal Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Michael Nzekwe, has taken up the position of Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Ola Olukoyede.

Having previously led the Commission in Ilorin since 2022, Nzekwe's recent promotion and redeployment to the EFCC Headquarters mark a significant transition.

His legal background and experience as a former commander of the Ilorin Zonal Command have earned him the reputation of a “topnotch investigator”.

Before assuming his current role, Nzekwe served across various departments within the Commission, including the Legal and Prosecution Department, Department of Operations (now Department of Investigations), Department of Internal Affairs (now Department of Ethics and Integrity), Servicom, and Asset Forfeiture Department.

His extensive training, both domestically and internationally, includes completion of the Advance Defence Intelligence Officers Course organized by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA)
