Emulate Alada, Abdulmalik charges Ilorin youths
The new National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, has charged the people of the community, particularly members of its younger generations, to emulate the sterling qualities of the longest-serving Secretary-General of the Third Estate Group, Ilorin Emirate, Dr Isiaka Yahaya Alada, for the future of the community to be assured.
Alhaji Abdulmalik gave this advice while reacting to the retirement of Dr Alada from the services of the National Population Commission (NPC) as its Director of Public Affairs on his attainment of the age of 60.
In a statement signed by the Union's newly reelected Spokesman, Mallam Nurudeen Ibrahiim, Alhaji AbdulMalik said that he and the entire people of Ilorin Emirate were extremely delighted that Dr Alada is retiring from the regular services of the Federal Government not only with sound health but also with an unsoiled integrity and unmatched reputation.
The retired Assistant Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service described Dr Alada as an outstanding patriot, who despite his tight engagement at national and international levels in the course of his over three decades of exciting career always found a way of making his services available to his ancestral community in several ways.
He added that he was always encouraged by the remarkable manners and exciting mannerisms of Dr Alada whose personality epitomises humility, industry, resilience, integrity and patriotism.
Alhaji Abdulmalik, who regretted that the retirement of Dr Alada has further depleted the presence of the people of Ilorin Emirate extraction in the top echelon of the federal public service, assured that the Union would work with other stakeholders to ensure that more indigenes of Ilorin Emirate are encouraged and assisted to join and progress in the Federal Civil Service for the interest of the community to be protected at all times.
Having retired from service, the IEDPU National President advised Dr Alada to ensure that he devoted more of his time, energy and other resources to the services of Allah and humanity as he encouraged him to continue to make himself a model to younger ones as he has always been for Ilorin Emirate to produce more of him and his likes.
Alhaji Abdulmalik, who congratulated Dr Alada, members of his family and associates on his well deserved retirement, wished the renowned scholar and technocrat sound health, long life and every other thing he would need to enable him to enjoy the fruits of his labour far beyond his expectations.
