The incident happened last Sunday, according to sources.

The spokesperson of the state police command, Ejire Adeyemi, confirmed the arrest of the suspect on Tuesday.

LEADERSHIP gathered that there was a disagreement between the suspect and the deceased over some harvested tubers of yams.

A source told LEADERSHIP that the deceased was called on phone on Sunday and went into the bush but never returned.

“When we continued the search the next day (Monday), we met his corpse at the same spot where we recovered his motorbike a day earlier badly macheted,” the source added.

He said that it was a disagreement about harvested yamd that led to the unfortunate incident.

He added, “The deceased, we discovered, once caught the suspect harvesting some yams in his farm, apprehended and collected money from him in the process, which led to their disagreement”.

The monarch said the suspect has been handed over to the police at the Oke-Ode Division.
