The people of Egbejila in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State have appealed to the state government to provide their community an access road to lessen their burden while transporting farm produce to urban centres.

They said the present condition of the road that links the community was affecting the socio-economic activities of the rural dwellers.

The Mogaji of Egbejila, Alhaji Mohammed Jamiu, who bared his mind on the condition of the road, said there is the incessant carnage on the road, saying traveling on it was becoming a nightmare to the people.

The community leader pleaded with Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed to put necessary machinery in motion for the construction of the road.

He said the people of the area would continue to support government in its various masses-oriented programmes with a view to making the state great.

Another respondent, Alhaji Baba Ola, told our reporter that frequent grading is the only action they see on the road.

He said the raining period is usually a curse to the road, as it creates several potholes, which consequently forced Commercial Motorcyclists, otherwise known as Okada riders to increase the fare.
