Kwara, Ogun to Partner on Repair of NNPC Pipelines

Date: 2012-10-10

The Kwara Government has promised to collaborate with its Ogun counterpart to ensure early repair of the vandalised NNPC pipe lines to alleviate the sufferings of the people.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport and Utility, Alhaji Bibire Ajape, disclosed this on Tuesday when he visited the Ilorin Depot Manager of NNPC at Okeoyi, Mr Lawrence Ekpah.

Ajape, who is also the Chairman of the reconstituted taskforce on petrol supply in the state, said collaborating with Ogun had become imperative to address the acute fuel shortage being experienced by residents.

He said his visit to the depot was to ascertain the situation of fuel supply in the state.

Responding, Ekpah said scarcity of petroleum products was not peculiar to the state alone and attributed it to non availability of the product at Mosinmi.

He advised the taskforce to work with the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria to ensure effective distribution and sale of the commodity.
