AbdulRazaq flags off bye-election campaign amidst encomium and prayers

Date: 2020-03-11

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who doubles as the leader of the All Progressives Congress in the state has flagged off the bye-election campaign amidst encomium and prayers from the people of Patigi.

The Governor who appeared not taking chances was joined by top government functionaries that included the Speaker, Kwara House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Salihu Yakubu, Secretary to State Government, Professor Mamman Saba Jibril, Commissioners, House of Assembly members and other top government functionaries.

AbdulRazaq has based the campaign on visible projects in the areas of infrastructure and human capital development that his administration has accomplished in just over nine months since taking office.

In his usual humble style and respect for the traditional institution, before he joined the campaign train at Patigi Cultural Centre, the Governor paid a royal visit to the Palace of Etsu Patigi where he sought the Etsu's royal blessings ahead of the by-election that is scheduled for Saturday, 14th March, 2020.

AbdulRazaq had earlier stopped over at Esanti in Patigi LGA, a community along the way to Patigi where he interacted with the people and urged them to come out in their numbers to vote for the APC in the upcoming by-election. The people appreciated the Governor's humility and uncommon commitment to providing infrastructure for Kwarans while assuring him of their total support at all times.

Similarly, the Governor's entourage made a stopover at Lade, one of the three districts in Patigi LGA where he took community campaign to the various political Wards in the community. He was received by the Chairman of the by-election campaign, Alh. Abdullahi M. Muazu who led the Governor's entourage to the traditional ruler of Lade, Alh. Abubakar Haruna who prayed for the Governor and implored him to continue in his good strides.

The campaign tour after successfully flagging off at Patigi proceeded to Kpada Ward 1 and campaigned into late night at Kpada Ward 2 that saw a massive turn out of party members despite the odd hour. Former Speaker, Hon. Benjamin Yisa was on ground to lead the grassroots campaigns.

Some members of National Assembly were also in the company of the Governor during the flag off campaign to support the APC candidate. This included Senator representing Kwara North, Sen. Sadiq Umar, member representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Abubakar Ndakene and member representing Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency, Hon. Ismail Tijani.

The State Executive during the flag off received all the 16 suspended LG Chairmen who decamped based on the good works of the Governor. The decamped chairmen attested to the progressive ideals of the Governor, noting that they were compelled by his unique approach to governance having brought governance closer to the people.

AbdulRazaq is expected to lead the campaign train towards another famous victory during the by-election.
