Flood: FG Distributes Relief Materials To 1,200 Flood Victims In Kwara

The federal government through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed relief materials to 1,200 persons affected by the 2019 flood across four local government areas in Kwara state.

The distribution exercise which took place at Omu – Aran, the headquarters of Irepodun local government area of the state was kicked -off by the Director – General of NEMA, Engr. Mustapha Maihaja.

In a press statement, made available tonewsmen in Ilorin, it was stated that the Director- General was was represented by the head, NEMA, Minna Operations Office in charge of Niger and Kwara States, Wagami Lydia.

The statement disclosed that beneficiaries were made up of victims from Irepodun, Isin, Oke-Ero and Ekiti local government areas of the state.

It announced that the items distributed included food and non -food items like rice, beans, maize, vegetable oil, cement, roofing sheets, and assorted nails.

The statement declared that the exercise was successfully coordinated by NEMA in collaboration with Kwara State Emergency Management Agency (KWASEMA), and the legislator representing the area in the House of Representatives,, Hon. Abdulraheem Tunji Olawuyi.

Three of the beneficiaries, Alh Oseni Abidoye, Michael Olawuyi, and Rachael Adeyemi thanked the federal government for showing genuine concern for their plight.
