Kwara Dep Gov calls for proper funding of Education

...Praises Unilorin for running uninterrupted academic calendar

The Kwara State government on Tuesday called for the proper funding of the education sector to ensure the development and progress of the Nation.

The State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi made the call while receiving the Chancellor and the Management Staff of the University of Ilorin in his office.

Mr Alabi also stressed the need for quality education particularly at the Primary and secondary schools level to build the youth positively.

The Deputy Governor equally emphasised the need for attitudinal change on the part of Nigerians attributing various vices happening in the Nation to the mindset of the people.

"Nigerians need to change their mindset for the Nation to move forward and quality education is what will need especially at the Primary and secondary schools level" he added. Mr Alabi described education as the future of any Nation calling on the government to place emphasis on the development of the sector.

The Deputy Governor praised the University of Ilorin for running uninterrupted academic calendar describing the institution as one of the best in the Country.

The Chancellor of the Institution and the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman commended the State government for its support and cooperation in achieving its aims of producing quality manpower for the Nation.

Alhaji Abdulmumini who was represented the Sardauanof Katsina, Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Ida praised the peaceful atmosphere in the State and acknowledged the fact that the Institution had been holding Convocation regularly.

The Emir of Katsina who called for more assistance and cooperation from the good people of Kwara State and the Governor prayed for the success of the present administration.
