The Kwara Government will soon introduce daily mobile courts to ensure compliance with environmental laws in the state, Mr Samuel Bamisaiye, the Commissioner for Environment and Forestry, has said.

Bamisaiye stated this on Monday shortly after evacuation of refuse in some parts of the Ilorin. He explained that government would begin to send security guards to areas where people dump refuse indiscriminately with a view to making culprits to face the wrath of the law.

The commissioner disclosed that the Ministry has constituted a Special Task Force, headed by himself, in line with the policy of the government to sustain a clean and green environment across the state.

On commercialisation of waste disposal, Bamisaiye said that the waste disposal in the state had been commercialised, and enjoined citizens to embrace the commercialisation policy to check outbreak of diseases. While noting that the ministry has increase the number of cleaning routes from 28 to 40, Bamisaiye said the government would not tolerate any illegal refuse dump sites within the metropolis.

The commissioner also warned poultry farmers to desist from dumping animal wastes in rivers or streams, disclosing that security guards would be deployed to some of strategic places within the state capital.
