Council boss hails Saraki's elevation as Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate

Date: 2018-07-24

Hon. Muyiwa Oladipo, Chairman of Irepodun LGA of Kwara has described the traditional honour bestowed on the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki, Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, as deserving commendation.

Oladipo gave the commendation in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Omu-Aran, on Monday.

NAN reports that Saraki was installed as the 4th occupier of the exalted traditional title by the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, in his palace.

He replaced his late father, Dr Olusola Saraki, a Second Republic Senate Leader, who was the last occupier of the title.

According to the statement the elevation was a clear recognition of Saraki's contribution toward upholding the unprecedented legacies left behind by his father.

It described the elevation, which came after Saraki's acquittal by the Supreme Court, as a morale booster and appetiser for his political career to flourish.

Oladipo expressed optimism that the investiture would spur Saraki to do more in contributing to the development of the community, the state and the country at large.

"Our father, the late Turaki of Ilorin and 3rd Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin, Dr Olusola Saraki started this eventful journey many decades ago, he was loved by all.

"The products of this journey, no doubt, had manifested positively across the length and breadth of the country.

"It has produced governors, ministers, ambassadors, many members of the National Assembly, State executive and captains of the industry.

"We are bold to say unequivocally that Sen. Bukola Saraki has never relented in seeing to the sustenance of this laudable objectives for our overall benefit.

"Our own mandate as the Chief Executive Officer of one of the councils in the state is definitely a product of this legacy," he said. (NAN)
