Date: 2018-05-01

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad has lauded Nigerian workers' overall contributions to the nation's development, noting that it could not be over emphasised.

While congratulating the workers on the 2018 Workers' Day celebration, the Speaker, in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Shuaib Abdulkadir commended their doggedness and commitment despite the numerous challenges encountered over the years.

Particularly, the Speaker also acknowledged the support of Kwara State Civil Servants, adding that they have been one of the best set of workers in the country and deserve nothing but the best.

He stated the need for both Federal, State and Local Government to provide good working condition and adequate remuneration that would further bring out the best in them.

According to him, I am using this opportunity to congratulate and salute the doggedness of Nigerian workers, especially the Civil Servants in our darling State as they are marking the 2018 Workers' Day.

Undoubtedly, they have been pivotal to the state's development and deserved nothing but the best. Their perseverance, commitment and dedication has been unequalled.

I want to specifically commended their unalloyed support to successive administrations in the state despite various challenges they have passed through.

Without taking anything away from them they have remained the best set of workers in the country. It is our resolve to work assiduously to ensure that their labour shall not die in vain.

We, as Lawmakers hereby reiterate our commitment to continually support Kwara State Government in making good policies that will improve their well-being.
