A Former member of the House of Representatives , Abuja, Alhaji Yekeen Alabi has been conferred with the honorary title of Asiwaju Baameto of Ibadan land.

The ceremony which took place at the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan , involved other traditional title holders and it attracted dignitaries from within and outside the country.

Alhaji Yekeen Alabi , hails from Ojoku in Oyun local government area of Kwara State and currently the Chairman of Gaa Akanbi Micro Finance Bank in Ilorin.

Speaking at the ceremony , the Olubadan , Oba Saliu Adetunji said the event was part of activities to mark his first year anniversary on throne adding that the award was to appreciate their contributions to the development of Ibadan and Nigeria.

Responding to the chieftaincy title, the new Asiwaju Baameto of Ibadanland, Alhaji Yekeen Alabi thanked the Olubadan and the Olubadan-in-Council for the honour done him and promised to continue to do everything within his capacity to contribute to the progress of Ibadan and the entire nation .
