Date: 2018-02-27

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, ?a socio-political group from Edu and Patigi Local Government Areas under the auspices of Kwara Youth Vanguard has thrown its weight behind Hon. Aliyu Bahago Ahman-Pategi to run for governorship seat of Kwara State.

Ahman-Pategi is the incumbent member representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and chairs Committee on Water Resources in the lower chamber of the National Assembly. A statement issued by the legislator's Media Assistant, Fatimah Jiyah, said the group gave the commitment during a constituency meeting held with him at Gbugbu, Edu Local Government Area of the state.

The representatives of the various wards from the youth vanguard hailed Ahman-Pategi for his developmental projects to the constituency in the last few years of his representation.

The speakers, according to the statement, said the constituency projects put smiles on the faces of the people, especially in the area of provision of portable water supply, youth empowerment and road projects among others for both youths and women.

The Secretary for Edu Youth Vanguard Mohammed Ndaliman chekugi, who commanded the legislator for his support to the youths, called on Ahman-Pategi to improve more on developmental projects including rural electrification and provision of quality education.

The legislator thanked the youths for their support to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last general elections in the state and called for their continuous support for the ruling party to record more victories in the forthcoming polls.

Ahman-Pategi said cooperation among party supporters is the key to success and promised to continue to do more developmental projects to ensure that dividends of democracy spread across the people of his constituency.

Reacting to some of the demands of the group, the legislator said the establishment of the Ahman-Pategi University was aimed at bringing education to the doorsteps of the teeming masses, adding that when completed it would go a long way to improve education standard in the community, state and the country at large.

He added that more projects had been included in the 2018 budget and assured that the ongoing projects in his constituency would be completed at the stipulated time,

The legislator pledged to continue to operate an open door policy and sued for prayer for the APC and the country at large to ensure peaceful coexistence.
