The Kwara State Chapter of the Peoples' Democratic Party, PDP, has appealed to its teeming supporters in Offa local government area of the state to continue to give maximum supports to the party and also be law abiding for the successful execution of its policy programmes.

This appeal came following the violent protest staged by supporters of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Offa last Wednesday to express their displeasure with the rulings of the Local Government Election Petitions Tribunal, which ordered a re-run for the Offa local government chairmanship seat.

A PDP Chieftain in the area, Alhaji Tajudeen Alabi gave this charge in Ilorin while speaking with Nigerian Pilot's correspondent.

He said, "The tribunal had given an acceptable verdict; people should in the interest of peace remain calm and start to prepare for the re-run election".

The party stalwart also appealed to the people to guide against anything that would breach the peace of Offa community, he commended the law enforcement agents for their prompt intervention, which he noted prevented the protest from going out of hands.
