An appeal has gone to the Federal and state governments to passionately look into the plight of Nigerian teachers by giving their welfare top priority at all times .

The Founder and financier of Baraje Center for Arabic and Islamic Studies, Gerewu , Ilorin , Alhaji Abubakar KAWU Baraje made the appeal in Ilorin while speaking at an event.

Alhaji Baraje urged Nigerians particularly all tires of governments, parents and guardians to take the issue of education as key and paramount warning that any nation that toyed with her educational system most especially Islamic and Arabic education is playing with the future of the youths and even the children yet unborn.

He lamented over the high rate at which youths indulge in illicit and hard drugs as well as other vices that are alien to the curt urge of the people of the Ilorin Emirate and Islam and therefore called for fervent prayers from both the parents and the Islamic clerics .

Alhaji Baraje, a member of the Board of Trustees of the All Progressives Party (APC) , enjoined our Islamic scholars to do more by educating the youths about the dictates of the Holy Qu'ran and the teachings of the Hadith against drug addiction .

He commended the state government for its support for Islamic activities and programmes and for creating a conducive for religious activities.
