Gobir callsfor attitudinal change in order to tackle corruption and societal ills

A Lagos based Social Entrepreneur and Pharmacist ,Alhaji Yakubu Layi Gobir, has called for attitudinal change in order to tackle corruption and societal ills in the country.

Alhaji Gobir, the Serikin Hausa made the call in a statement issued to journalists to felicitate with Muslims on the celebration of Eid Kabir festival.

According to him, government had initiated whistle blowing policy to recover stolen public funds, pointing out that to gauge the success of the policy, Nigerians must change for better by imbibing good attitude.

Alhaji Gobir frowned at high rate of immorality in the country, saying that the cultural value of the society had been eroded which he said portends serious danger to the growth and development of Nigeria.

He also lamented high rate of rape, cultism, kidnapping, and hooliganism in the country, pointing out that these had contributed to the destruction of Nigeria's image.

Alhaji Gobir noted that Clerics have roles to play by preaching against these vices to fulfill the purpose of their callings, stressing the need for them at their various worship centres to always preach the words of Allah to the congregations.

The Entrepreneur rejoiced with the people of Ilorin Emirate and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari on the celebration of Eid Kabir festival with a call on the elites, religious Associations, various groups, security agents and the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressives Union to rise to the challenges of thuggery, kidnapping, rituals, hooliganism and consumption and selling of illicit drugs in Ilorin Emirate.
