The residence of Stadium Road, off Taiwo Road in Ilorin, have appealed to the Kwara State Government on the deplorable condition of the road in the area caused by gully erosion.

The road, which leads to Ejiba Road, is getting worse by the day as the contractor handling the project had stopped work.

Some residents, who spoke with newsmen in Ilorin, complained that the situation of the road needs quick attention before things ge worse.

"Whenever it rains, the road will not be motorable and even pedestrians have to move carefully because the road becomes very slippery", said a resident who identified himself as Mr. Ajisafe.

"I actually thought the contractors would have finished the work on the road by now, since they started it some months back. But they left the other aspects untouched after they finished with the expansion of the drainage and repairing some parts of the road".

Another resident close to the area, Mr. Sunday Ajibowu, expressed concern over the state in which the road has been left.

The last time I passed through this road, the bumper of my car hit the ground and got broken. Therefore, we are appealing to the Kwara State Government to expedite action on the project".
