Kwara United Play Down Flying Eagles Loss

Date: 2012-08-08

Kwara United have stated they are not bothered by their 2-1 loss to the Nigeria U-20 team last Sunday in a friendly game in Ilorin.

The Afonja Warriors have been having a torrid time recently due to bad results.

Last Wednesday's 1-0 win over Warri Wolves was their first victory in their last six games in all competitions, and as the team still searches for more points to guarantee their top-flight status, their fans are eager for a good result to allay their relegation fears.

Panic

However, the defeat to John Obuh's team does not warrant a push for the panic button as explained by the team's spokesman Olayioye Ajide.

"The game was more like an experimentation because we used it to test the efficiency of some of the players regarding their staying or departing the club at the end of the season", he said.

Kwara are hovering about the relegation place and will need to win at least one of their last two fixtures to remain a top division side.
