Kwara Govt. reiterates commitment to sports development

The Kwara State Government has reiterated its resolve to encourage and promote sports development in the State, according to the State's Director of Sports, Tunde Kazeem.

The director stated the development on Tuesday while receiving the victorious Athletes to three major competitions within and outside the Country.

Kazeem stated that the State government would continue to provide the enabling environment to make Athletes excel in their career.

The Director of Sports noted that the government would compensate the Athletes urging them not to relent in projecting the State through Sports. He commended the Athletes for winning laurels for the State pledging that the welfare of the Athletes would be given priority attention.

At the just Concluded First Ex-Pro National Under sixteen and Under nineteen Squash Championship held in Lagos, Kwara State won a total of three Gold, three Silver and two Bronze medals.

Faidat Soliu won gold medal in the Under nineteen girls by defeating Rofiat also of kwara State in the finals by three-two set.

In the Under sixteen boys, Uthman Durosinlorun defeated Nasir Abdul Rahman also from kwara State in the finals while Rofiat Abdulazeez defeated Odunade Adeyi also of kwara State in the finals of the girls category. Aminat Musa and Oluwafemilayo Seun won bronze medals.
