As Kwara Begins Airlift of Lesser Hajj Pilgrims Tomorrow
Intending pilgrims for this year's lesser-Hajj to Saudi Arabia from Kwara State will be airlifted between Saturday and Sunday, the Executive Secretary of the state's Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaja Fatimoh Abolore Jimoh, has said. Jimoh, who addressed journalists, said the first batch would be airlifted on Saturday August 4, while the remaining pilgrims would be airlifted the following day.
She said all arrangements relating to pilgrims accommodation, feeding, transportation and others have been perfected.
In his remarks, the zonal coordinator for the National Hajj Commission, Alhaji Musa Ubandawaki, attributed the smooth and hitch-free exercise usually conducted by the commission to early preparation.
Ubandawaki advised intending pilgrims to perform the exercise in accordance with laid down procedures and avoid acts that could dent the image of the country in the holy land.
