KWHA Leader bags Pan African Servant Leadership award

Leaders, Politicians, Corporate and affluent individuals in West African sub region have been urged to re-dedicate themselves towards serving humanity to wipe out poverty, joblessness, acrimony and insecurity in the sub region.
The President of the West African Student Union Parliament, Hon. Christophe Dave gave the advice in Ilorin while presenting a "Pan African Servant Leadership award" to the Leader of the Kwara State House of Assembly Hon. Hassan Oyeleke in Ilorin.
Hon, Dare who is of the University of Decocodi, Abidjan in Ivory Coast noted with displeasure that the West African Sub region has been afflicted with poverty, jobless-ness and other social vices, insisting that social menace could be exterminated from the sub-region and the continent in general when leaders, affluent individuals demonstrated genuine commitment and sincerity of purpose towards moving the sub region to a greater height.
He said the award tagged "Vanguard of Legislative Prudence and Youth Empowerment in Nigeria" was bestowed on the House Leader in view of his un-relentless tremendous contributions to the nation's hard won democracy and Youth Empowerment right from his days as Councillor in the old Oyun Local Government till date.
Hon. Dave explained that the West African Student Union Parliament was particularly delighted with the matured way he has been coordinating activities between the parliament and the Kwara State Government without any iota of acrimony and his closeness to his constituent and therefore charged parliamentarians in West African Sub-region and politicians to emulate his sterling qualities to further strengthen democracies on the continent.
Responding, the House Leader Hon. Oyeleke who dedicated the award to his constituency and the State House of Assembly under the able leadership of the Speaker Dr. Ali Ahmad, the government and people of Kwara State assured that the award would serve as an impetus for him to re-dedicating himself towards serving God and Humanity.
Hon. Oyeleke then eulogised the West African Student Union Parliament for the recognition, noting that the future was bright for the Sub region and the continent with the quality of her future leaders.
The award presentation attracted delegates from Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and other West Africa countries.
Meanwhile, the Kwara State House of Assembly under the leadership of the Speaker Dr Ali Ahmad has been commended for giving the necessary backing to policies that re-positioned the tradition institution in the state, for better performance.
The newly upgraded first class Emir of Okuta in Baruteen Local Government Area of the state Alhaji. Idris Sero Abubakar Kperogi-Afon Serobetete the third, made the commendation in a letter of commendation to the Speaker of the House Dr. Ali Ahmad,on behalf of the four traditional rulers recently upgraded to first class status in Baruteen Local Government Area of the State.
The Emir who oversees the activities of the Traditional Council in the local government noted with delight that the 8th legislature being piloted by the Speaker had demonstrated genuine commitment to issues and legislations that enhanced the well-being of the people of the state and traditional institution in particular.
He explained that with the recent elevation of 8 Traditional Rulers to first class status, the state had become pacesetter to other states in the federation and assured that they would reciprocate the gesture by sustaining the slogan "State of Harmony" of the State in their respective domains.
